Before and after
It’s easy to forget when you take delivery of completed images that there can be quite a difference between the image captured on camera, and the final finished product. Over the next few days I’ll be sharing a few examples of images in the their unaltered and processed states, to illustrate how plenty of creative decisions, and important changes, happen between when the image leaves my camera, and when it is ready for sharing.
For this image to work properly, different areas of the image had to be processed separately to ensure that each element worked to enhance the overall image. In this case, the snake, leaves background and log were all processed differently to make the final image as striking as possible.
Not from VE Day but . . .
The Red Arrows were buzzing the London skyline last Friday for VE Day. I didn’t catch them then, but luckily they are frequent visitors to Norfolk in August, where I was able to catch this shot of them in action.
Melt Yourself Down
It was a bitter blow to find that Melt Yourself Down had to cancel their London show last month. I was very excited about this, as the new album is stunning, and their live shows are intoxicating. This images are shots I took the first time I saw them in November 2016 at O’Meara in Southwark. Can’t wait for the rescheduled show in October
Goodbye Festival No.6
When I went to Portmeirion ‘s Festival No. 6 in 2018, little did I imagine that it would turn out to be the last one. As the realisation dawned on everyone, this message was spotted in the sands of the estuary. My photo of this charming sign has been messed with in photoshop to emphasis the text and give the landscape an every alien look to it.
A favourite to photograph

Gig remembrances #2
Always admired Killing Joke, but never managed to see them. So doubly delighted to see a line-up including original bassist Youth at Boomtown 2019. Here’s a couple of my images of Jaz Colman; still terrifying and inspiring and hilarious in equal measure.
A little personal obsession
When I’m not doing my usual photography, I have quite an obsession with photographing stained glass. This stained glass is from at the Church of St. Jaume in Alcudia in Majorca.

Extinction Rebellion Summer
